Famous Pearls
Friday, June 1st, 2007Hi Girls
Ok, we have talked about famous diamonds, emeralds and engagement rings but what about famous pearls? Yes, we know about diamond rings that you have to work out to wear but what dazzling attention would you gain if you carried around a pearl that weights 25.5 Grams? That is what the Imperial Hong Kong Pearl Weighs. This gorgeous pearl was then set in Platinum and Diamonds and made into a pendant.
Or how about the Arco Valley pearl which is a mere 575 carats? Not too shabby a gift from Marco Polo to Khubilai Khan, don’t you think? What kind of alliances could be formed if a particularly amorous suitor bestowed this lovely pearl on you? Or the slightly larger Pearl of Asia which weighs in at a lovely 600 carats.
Pearls have always held a distinguished place in the history of jewelry. Celebrities and royals alike have held them in high regard and used them to display their wealth in the most tasteful way possible. Isn’t it time you joined their ranks?

June is just a few days away and that is a sign that you should get your pearls out of storage. June babies have pearls wrapped around their little fingers, as their birth stone. Classy, yet simple these lovely strings are perfect for garden parties, summer dresses and adding that special bit of innocence to any outfit.
For those of you who can remember, actress Mary Pickford wore only pearls when she was filmed and Audrey Hepburn’s pearls in Breakfast at Tiffany’s are infamous. Pearls are one of the easiest jewels to wear as they can make even the simplest outfit shine.
