Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Do you need something you can use on a day-to-day basis, whether with jeans in the morning or with a cocktail dress or even a gown at night?

Well then, this beauty would be for you. This Heart Charm Bracelet in 14K Yellow and White Gold is the perfect item to wear all day, all night long. Whether you’re going to a corporate meeting in the morning, a PTA meeting in the afternoon then a formal dinner at night, you can wear this, from the moment you bounce out your house till the moment you turn in at night.

The hearts are charming, forgive the pun, but the interplay of gold and silver gives this beauty a classic look unlike anything else.

As usual, I would recommend that this be worn with something black for the nighttime affair. But you know, since it is both gold and silver, this pretty thing would go well with just about anything in your closet.

Since it is a bracelet and is neither too chunky nor too minimalistic, you can actually wear a thin necklace and a simple pendant and a pair of discreet earrings to go with it. As a rule of thumb, I follow the “less is more” principle.

Dahlings, we need not be fashion victims. I stress that you should learn from the best. With jewelry, go for the eyecatching. But when you get the extravagant pieces, wear it with temperance in mind. Like alcohol, drink moderately. :p

But seriously. With this versatile beauty, you can never go wrong. And oh. There are only two left in stock.

Lurking in the Liquidation Center Week: Filigree Earrings

14K White Gold Filigree Earrings in the Liquidation Center

I think I’ve mentioned before that the kinds of jewelry I like most are earrings and bracelets. Well, I decided that since I had posted on liquidation center items anyway, the rest of the week will feature Liquidation Center goodies.

Today’s pretty little thing is a pair of 14K White Gold Filigree Earrings. These Filigree earrings caught my eye right away because they didn’t look like your ordinary silver or white gold pieces. Far from ordinary, they give a taste of the ancient and ornate pieces that must have been the rage in the days of the queens.

And can you believe these are on sale? I sure can’t!

So while y’all are still salivating and debating on whether or not your budget can fit this baby, I would like to break your hesitation by saying that they are only… A hundred dollars? No. Fifty? Haha, try again.

Yes, my dears, these white gold delights are just to-die-for at only… Forty-four dollars and ninety-five cents. Yes, dahlings, these sheer beauties at the equally beautiful price of $44.95.

Just a little background on Filigree.

The Filigree method of creating jewelry consists of entwining metal threads together and soldering them to make the jewelry and its design. This has been recorded as used in ancient civilizations, and it was said to have been perfected by the Greeks and Etruscans in the 6th to the 3rd Century B.C. Wow. Mighty history for something I found on sale!

So, if I were you, I would…

Ulta-Glam Items in MyJewelryBox’s Liquidation Center!

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Yesterday, I talked about how a girl’s choice of accessories depends on her personal style. And since I already covered subtle and elegant, today, I’m going for out-and-out glam!

Glamorous living is inherent in every woman’s system. I believe that every woman has different sides to her, and whether she may be inherently glam or inherently subtle, there are days when she would go gaga for the all-out and over-the-top. Today is *my* all-out glam day.

Crislu Sterling Platinum Necklace 6.9 ctw with Yellow Cubic Zirconia Crislu Sterling Platinum Necklace 6.9 ctw with Amethyst Cubic Zirconia

These two variations of the Crislu Sterling Platinum Necklace 6.9 ctw with colored Cubic Zirconia were in the Liquidation Center of my fave jewelry nook. At $119, you cannot afford to let this slip your hands!

The one with the yellow Cubic Zirconia stone has only 5 left in stock, while the Amethyst Cubic Zirconia piece has only 4 left. So I’m asking you, are you really willing to let this go?

If you are not yet sold on the price, I’ll give you a couple of wardrobe tips.

These babies are best with:

  • A long black sleeveless gown, ankle-length, with a sleek, slim cut, with only that and a bracelet or discreet studs as other accessories. A gem-studded belt would be great too.
  • The yellow variant would look great with a gold satin variant of the black gown described above. Dangling earrings could be worn, but chuck the bracelet and get a pretty printed cloth belt for an accent to the gown. Or else the gown could have printed, matching-color accents in strategic places.
  • And as always, these would look great with sleek white blouses or crisp tees.

Remember ladies, with extravagant pieces like these, use other accessories sparingly. You won’t want to look like a fashion victim.
