Ok, I know that many of the celebs are incorporating nature into their jewelry collections but I didn’t think that snakes would be included. Perhaps the men might venture into venom land but not the girls, I thought. Well think again. With stars like Grey’s Anatomy’s Kate Walsh sporting snake necklaces this trend has hit the big time.

The necklaces that we have seen lately tend to be on the delicate side though. Less venom and more feminine hypnotic charm, like the necklace shown above. So if you intend on venturing into this new celebrity trend go with our usual catch phrase of less is more and you should blend
right in.

I am not a big fan of snakes to begin with and Janet Jackson goes up and down in my esteem. The woman can sing like an angel but who knows what to think with the gossip columnists wagging their tongues. Either way I do love this singer’s sense of style. She does things her way baby.

For instance her snake shaped jewelry may just be inspiring a trend. It certainly fits her exotic personality and dance style, plus it goes with that Eighties song of hers,”He’s a cold hearted snake…”

She also tends to lean toward star shaped jewelry as well, so perhaps she is on a nature kick. I don’t know what goes through this celeb’s head but occasionally, when I want to explore my wild side, I lean toward her style.

After all isn’t it fun just to wear something totally different once in a while?

So Lindsey canceled her Vegas birthday bash for a Malibu beach party, a step in the right direction on all accounts. She drank diet sodas and vitamin drinks that day and seemed to be doing much better. Her pals must realize that she still has a wild side though because along with Cartier jewelry she received a skull necklace.

At the beach she wore a black and pearl circular ring, necklace and a simple stud belly ring. Hey if you are going to show off a great bod with a bikini why not? And despite her previous days of boozing she is looking incredible.

Maybe this wild child can change?

Yes, Paris is out of jail now and has done her interview with Larry King. I know I should be focusing on that but I am more interested in her understated jewelry. The girl that has her own jewelry line is actually going the tasteful route, as far as her jewelry choices are concerned.

Perhaps this is part of her new image?

It is interesting to note that when she went into court and was sentenced to prison, she appeared sans jewelry. Perhaps the bling that added to her fortune is her good luck charm? Lesson here never leave home without just a tad bit of sparkly jewelry.

It should be interesting if she sticks to the Simple Life Approach or if she goes back to her overly glamorous bling approach. Only time will tell.

Remember diamonds may not get you out of a jam but it will hardly ever get you into one either.

Have you ever noticed that weddings seem to happen in packs? I was watching Four Weddings and a Funeral and couldn’t stop laughing. Every time a friend or cousin is about to get married, it seems like all of our friends or relatives seem eager to follow suit. And this of course means that you not only have to find a suitable gift but a lovely gown and jewelry that no one has seen you in.

That is why classic jewelry is the answer. The dress that you wear must change. Everyone will remember what you wore to the last wedding. But the jewelry has the chance of slipping under the radar. I mean no one is going to say, ” Oh my she wore her diamond stud earrings again.”

The navy blue gown with the v-neck on the other hand…

You are never expected to purchase a ton of extra jewelry for these occasions. They would rather that you took the extra cash and purchased a nicer gift. So purchasing some classic jewelry that you can wear again and again without raising eyebrows is always a good move.

Think simple diamond jewelry or a lovely delicate bracelet. Or if you are Christian, a lovely gold cross will rarely cause embarrassment.

Keep it simple and classy and you should be fine.
