I didn’t know that October was this special. Aside from being my mother’s birth month, I realized, just now, that it is also actually Breast Cancer Awareness Month! So no wonder the pink tourmaline jewelry had a special purpose in having part of its proceeds go to Breast Cancer research!

Well, yes, an “A-ha!” and a “Duh!” moment for Zoe both at the same time. Well now that we’re celebrating both birthstones and breast cancer awareness for the month of October, it’s hard to truly decide which to exult in more: the fact that a special woman in my life is celebrating her birth month, or the fact that some of the jewelry on my favorite website will go to a cause. The cause of beast cancer awareness is dear to me, because another special woman in my life has been fighting it for several months now. The last time, her bone marrow scan was clear, but a few weeks ago, another lump was seen in her breast.
