Gemstones: High Up Among Girl’s Favorite Things

Emerald and Diamond Gemstone Three-Stone Necklace in White Gold with ChainThe other day I was all over the green stuff. I guess I was on a roll. An emerald roll, haha! What a silly thing to say. :) Anyway, speaking of gems the color of absinthe, this pretty thing caught my eye and I really couldn’t help blogging about it. This is another emerald gemstone pendant that I just couldn’t pass up telling you about.

I like this because the design of this emerald gemstone pendant is trés chic, and it would really go well with a plunging neckline.

Speaking of gemstones, I couldn’t help feeling somewhat awed by the fact of how they totally complement a look, a certain ensemble and generally be a fashion essential a girl should never live without. In terms of chic-ness, gemstones are way up there in boosting fashion credibility and the general beauty of a girl.

Gemstones more than accentuate, actually. They could also be used for a cause, as in the case of the breast cancer jewelry that myjewelrybox.com sells. Proceeds of the sale of these gemstones fund breast cancer research, so you can be assured that your purchase of the said gemstone jewelry will go to a very worthy, very relevant cause.

I love gemstones not just because they complement a look, not just because gemstones could be used for a cause, but also because gemstones are just simply fascinating. Tell me you haven’t looked deep into an emerald and not gotten mesmerized by its sheer tantalizing greenness.

What about opals? Opals with the kind of iridescence and mystery as those I’ve featured before are gemstones worthy of being collected and worn too.

A woman will never cease to be fascinated with gemstones. And sometimes, gemstones are what makes me happy about being a girl. ;)

A Citrine Gemstone Beauty for the Ultimate in Glamor!

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

When was the last time you cried when you saw a pair of earrings? Today was the first time I became teary-eyed for the sheer beauty of today’s find.

I was just doing my usual combing of my favorite jewelry website when I spotted today’s beauteous creation. I had to hold back my squeal of delight, as I was in Grain De Cafe in Roanne, France, checking my email by being connected to their WiFi here. I tagged along with my fiance in one of his meetings here, and we decided to enjoy our post-labor day vacation as well. :)

And as for the beauty I was talking about, she was everything I ever envisioned I would wear with a black sleeveless Greek-inspired, semi-empire-cut black dress.

With my hair up in a French twist, a silver clutch wallet, silver rhinestone-studded stiletto sandals, white opera-length and a diamond armband to complete the ensemble, I’m all set for a gala night with my citrine beauties.

This Citrine Gemstone Earrings come with 1/5 ctw Diamonds in White Gold. They make any outfit elegant and classy, and you will never regret ever buying them.

What’s more, these glam beauties make you save 61% of $450, at only $179.

I’m asking myself. How could such rich, glamorous gems cost so low?

And to think that they’re set in 10 karats of white gold. So imagine the value of what I’m buying right now.

Citrine and Diamond Gemstone Earrings

I’m wearing this beauteous pair of citrine earrings on the first of the twice-monthly “Formal Fridays” dates with my fiance. Hmm. I’m really really excited about going to Troisgros, the 25th of the best restaurants in the world according to this website. But no, I don’t think I’ll wear the ensemble I described earlier. I’ll just wear this with a crisp, above-the-knee sundress that will not be as dramatic as what I envisioned, but it will be every inch as glamorous.

Look Young and Hip with these Purple and Pink Gemstones!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

If there are any colors that are just girly, these would be pinks, reds, and purples.

My teens were a mass of blacks and reds, angst galore. But nowadays, I go more for the pinks and purples. If I wanted to go out looking like your average teen, who’s stopping me? I can pull it off, mind you!

And what better way to complete the teen look than having teeny accessories?

amethyst gemstone ring

That beautiful Amethyst Gemstone Heart Ring with Diamonds in White Gold is my pick for looking girly-pretty.

Hearts are the teen girl’s best friend, and this would just make me look, and feel, pretty. I adore the cool silver sheen of the white gold, and the yummy purpleness of the Amethyst.

But that’s not all. I want the Amethyst Gemstone Pendant Diamond Heart Drop in White Gold, too. That beauty is just to-die-for. The design, the enchanting color, I doubt you could ever consider wearing anything else for days after wearing that!

But while I absolutely adore purple and those pieces, I have to have pinks, too, right? Check these two beauties out:

pink quartz gemstone earrings On the left are the Pink Quartz Gemstone Earrings with Diamonds in 14K White Gold, while on the right, below, is the Sterling Silver Pink Cubic Zirconia Ring. Only to-die-for, right?

These girly gemstones are your best friend if you’re a young mom and you don’t want to embarrass your teen kids when you go to PTA meetings in their school/s. You would not only make your kids proud to have you as their mom, you will be the envy of the other mommies in those meetings, too!pink cubic zirconia ring

Zoe’s Wardrobe Tips for these Pieces:

-Wear only a maximum of two of these pieces, and make sure that they match. Better if you keep the gem-adorned jewelry to only one piece and then wearing another plain metal (silver or white gold) piece. Overdressing and mismatching looks horrid, not to mention disastrous.
- For a fresh look, wear with jeans and a crisp, pastel-colored shirt. A white one would do well too. The amethysts and the Pink Quartz earrings are best for the fresh look. Shades would be nice.
-For an edgy look, use the Cubic Zirconia ring with a black tee and jeans.

If you want to wear any of these pieces to an evening/formal event, no one’s stopping you! The key is taste and elegance. If it looks good, go ahead! Till tomorrow, Dahlings!

Gemstones Of The Month, Do You Know Yours?

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Hi Girls

Ruby gemstoneIt’s August. And boy is it hot!

Last night was my girlfriend Chelsea’s birthday. Her 21st! She was so excited.

Her finger looks mighty pretty these days sporting this new gemstone of hers. Her man is a smart one and got her a huge gemstone for her birthday and I must say it is a beauty.

I don’t think Chelsea realized the gemstone for the month of August was the peridot. I didn’t know. Heck, I couldn’t even say the word until last night and then it was under the influence of five martinis. Dry, of course.

Here’s the plan, ladies. Send your man to my blog and I’ll let him know what the gemstone is for your birth month. Drop a subtle hint about when your birthday is, of course. You don’t want him to forget! Then, when he’s feeling good about you, he’ll go to your favorite jewelry store and pick out the perfect gemstone just for you! Here they are in their glory, girls:

  • January - Garnet
  • February - Amethyst (I just love amethysts, don’t you?)
  • March - Aquamarine (You Pisces girls will love this gemstone)
  • April - Diamond, needs no introduction
  • May - Emerald
  • June - Pearl (My favorite gemstone of all)
  • July - Ruby
  • August - Peridot
  • September - Sapphire (The gemstone of gemstones!)
  • October - Opal
  • November - Topaz
  • December - Turquoise (I believe this is the color of love, ladies)

I know you know how to drop a hint. So make a subtle suggestion and send your man here to my blog so he can learn what your gemstone is. Then I’m sure when your birthday rolls around, you’ll be as happy as my friend Chelsea and sporting a beautiful gemstone on your finger, or your ears, or maybe even around that sweet little neck of yours!
