Have you heard about this junior high school superstar Miley Cyrus. Daughter of Billy Raye Cyrus this kid has made it big on her own. Her record is on the top of the charts and just recently hit number one. She also has a top rated tv show on the Disney Channel.

This is exactly the type of girl that our teens should be looking up to. Plus the girl has a real sense of style. And her jewelry is right on target for what young ladies should be wearing. She keeps it simple with both her necklace and bracelets. Nothing chunky or over the top for this girl. Her jewelry is used exactly as it is supposed to - accentuate her charm and beauty.

Jessica Alba was radiant in her Gucci gown and gold jewelry. Not only does she have a fabulous body but she knows how to accentuate her assets too. Her drop down earrings and link bracelet were the perfect accessories to her gold gown.

I think this young star has brought gold back in a big way. Finally there is a reason to get all of your gold jewelry out from your bottom jewelry box drawer and draw some attention for yourself. The Gucci gown we may have to save up for.

Did you all see the Tony’s last night? It was fabulous! Such style and energy and what simplicity. Despite some over the top performances these stars dressed with elegance and panache. An amazing combination to accomplish.

We saw bracelets and earrings but not many necklaces. And the jewelry was worn, as it was intended, as an accessory. The theme wasn’t how lovely their jewelry looked but how amazing they looked.

Jennifer Ehle who won best actress for The Coast of Utopia wore a simple diamond bracelet. And Mary Louise Wilson who won best featured actress wore chunky earrings and a gold band as her accessories, sans the necklace again. And last but not least Julie White who won best performance by a leading actress in a play wore only a beaded bracelet with no earrings or necklace.

Sometimes, as these classy ladies have shown, it is more impressive to pick one or two amazing pieces of jewelry that accentuate your image than to pick one that overwhelms it.

Did any of you notice how subtly jewelry was used in last Spring’s fashion shows? Normally these models are draped in diamonds or other outrageous bling. This year though the designers stuck to pendants and simple bracelets. Could it be that they have finally recognized that most of the population doesn’t have Oprah’s bank account?

Whether this is a trend that will last or not, I can’t say, but it did give this year’s show a much edgier look. Could this be why celebrities this year have gone with more unusual jewelry to all of their red carpet events? Whatever the reason I am loving this year’s jewelry collections. They are so much fun!

Did you know that the circle is a sign of unity and considered absolutely perfect by mathematicians? Perhaps that is the reason why so many celebrities, like Lindsey Lohan, Jennifer Aniston and Paris Hilton, wear circular jewelry. Who needs balance and harmony more than these celebrities?

You can either wear a single circle of diamonds hung by a delicate strand around your neck or a double linked circle.

You can even go in for circular earrings, although I wouldn’t do both the necklace and earrings at the same time. Circles are simple and perfect and your outfit and accompanying jewelry should reflect that. So go to town with your Circles Collection but alternate each piece with a different outfit.
