Hi Girls

Some friends invited me over to their church service today. I didn’t understand most of it because it was in another language but the ceremony was beautiful. Through the parts that I couldn’t translate I spent my time perusing the parishioners.

Some of these women had the most gorgeous crosses on. I never realized that there were so many varieties.

There were simple yet modern looking ones like:

And intricate ones like:

The different styles were breath taking. One friend of mine wore one that was made of white gold with gorgeous diamonds woven around it.

I didn’t realize it but in some cultures crosses are given to children by their God Parents. These are people that the parents have chosen to oversea the child’s spiritual education, if something happens to them. The whole experience was fascinating to me.

I love discovering how jewelry is interwoven into the history of other cultures.

Anyway, just wanted to share this and wish you all a Happy Easter.
