Love her or hate her, Paris Hilton showed real courage before turning herself in to serve her jail time. Dressed in a simple black dress and diamond bracelet, she surprised everyone by attending the MTV music awards. Some rather mean spirited comedians made jokes at her expense, but Paris didn’t flinch.

Most women in her position would have spent her last days of freedom cowering in their homes and avoiding the media. This brave woman chose to face her denouncers publicly and in full glamorous garb. She then turned herself in to the sheriff several days earlier than she had to.

I don’t always agree with her antics or attitude but she gets my vote for sheer moxy.
