Cuff With a History: Fleur de Lys and Sword Leather Cuff Power Bracelet

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

I still cannot get over my punk moment.

fleur de lys urban jewelry bracelet

Punk, Goth and Emo are teen subcultures that I haven’t encountered in my day. But this beautiful fleur de lys cuff, despite looking like a teen punk/emo/goth accessory, is so to-die-for, it transcends subcultures and genres.

I mentioned Goth because back in the.. Old times, Gothic architecture evokes the same feelings and perceptions as this beautiful bracelet. Gray, gloomy hues, but in the dark, gloomy world of Gothic architecture, there is beauty. Much like this cuff bracelet.

Okay, profound moment over. :)

I think this cuff bracelet would really go well with an elegant, sleek black dress. You could actually wear this one to a cocktail party. You don’t have to wear the thick dark eyeliner that the Goth look requires. Actually, I think a clean, natural look would be best, nude or light pink lipcolor, then your slinky black dress, a pair of nice silver, plain or diamond-studded earrings, probably a discreet necklace, then this bangle. But to emphasize this fleur de lys cuff, you could skip the necklace and just stick with the earrings and your black dress.

And what gives this piece character is the fact that the fleur de lys has a long history, filled with symbolism and meaning.

Nice to know jewelry could have history, huh? : )

Toodles, my darlings!

Going Edgy: Zoe Found a Pretty Urban Jewelry Bracelet

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Let’s let our hair down and be a bit edgy for a day, shall we?

I stumbled across a cuff bracelet on my favorite jewelry website on the planet just the other day, and I realized that I could actually turn the fashion thing around. Instead of me finding jewelry to accessorize my outfit, why don’t I customize my outfit for the jewelry?

Hematite Stingray Leather Cuff Bracelet in Sterling Silver

That is the Hematite Stingray Leather Cuff Bracelet in Sterling Silver that made me want to dress like Avril Lavigne (Sk8rboi era look) for a day. Could you imagine, sassy, elegant Zoe in Avril Lavigne’s edgy Sk8rboi look, because of this bangle! I was beside myself!

But really. There are days when a girl should just let her hair down, simply because urban jewelry could get pretty irresistible. And this is one of them!

“Edgy” hugs and kisses,

Are You A Bracelets Or A Bangles Girl?

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Hi Girls

Maybe you can settle an argument for me? Mom says I’d look in bangles, but I don’t agree. I prefer straight-laced bracelets. You know, nothing fancy.

I like gold, mom says silver. I’ve always wanted a gold bracelet with a dangling heart, but mom says go with a bangle with diamonds. Girl’s best friend and all of that. What do you think?

So what do you like? Bangles or bracelets? You can get both at My Jewelry Box.
