Jewelry for a Cause: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Jewelry!
I didn’t know that October was this special. Aside from being my mother’s birth month, I realized, just now, that it is also actually Breast Cancer Awareness Month! So no wonder the pink tourmaline jewelry had a special purpose in having part of its proceeds go to Breast Cancer research!
Well, yes, an “A-ha!” and a “Duh!” moment for Zoe both at the same time. Well now that we’re celebrating both birthstones and breast cancer awareness for the month of October, it’s hard to truly decide which to exult in more: the fact that a special woman in my life is celebrating her birth month, or the fact that some of the jewelry on my favorite website will go to a cause. But I’ll play it safe by talking about both kinds of jewelry in today’s jewelry-filled, glitter-glam “episode”.
The cause of beast cancer awareness is dear to me, because another special woman in my life has been fighting it for several months now. The last time, her bone marrow scan was clear, but a few weeks ago, another lump was seen in her breast.
I do not see this as a sad event, however. It is just another way for miracles to be seen in this day and age. And I’m thankful for jewelry like the breast cancer research jewelry, because they help pave the way for solutions to the problems of people like my “surrogate” mom.
I pray that if the day comes that I have to battle breast cancer myself, the generosity of the people behind this breast cancer research drive, and the proceeds of the breast cancer awareness jewelry would have gone a long way. I hope that people’s generosity with buying a piece of jewelry for a cause would make a difference in countless of lives.
