Life, Love, Friendship, Earrings, and How Earrings Set a Woman’s Cheeks Afire!

I was five when my family moved cities. In that new city, the first-ever girl to befriend me was someone I could actually call a free spirit. After so many years, we finally got to hang out with each other again. We both found out we share a passion for friendships, men (for her, for now; just one love of my life for me), and… Earrings.

Of all the jewelry we could ever both have an affinity for, earrings make the most sense, because, as was said in the Song of Solomon, “How lovely are your (a woman’s) cheeks; your earrings set them afire! How lovely is your neck, enhanced by a string of jewels.”

Take note, it was King Solomon who said that earrings made his beloved’s cheeks more comely, “afire” even! And so, I believe that they are what brings out a woman’s beauty most intensely. Well, how can you argue, when King Solomon, known for his great wisdom and appreciation of feminine beauty, one of the best known kings in the Bible himself, saw how earrings had brought out the beauty in his beloved’s face.

I, for one, know the power of the right pair of earrings to bring out my own beauty. Without a pair of particularly interesting chandelier earrings, my face is absolutely plain. But with the right pair of earrings matched with the right outfit, my beauty just shines through; is afire, so King Solomon says.

But back to my childhood best friend and I..

After an evening of coffee, muesli, talks about life, love, boys, earrings, jewelry and fashion, we parted with a greater appreciation for each other, and with a stronger friendship. And that just may include an exchange of earrings and other girly gifts in the future. :)
