It also comes in other colors: shades of yellow, flax, green, brown, red, and pink. It also comes in either blue or light blue.

But while we are focusing on the blueness of this gorgeous gem, let me tell you the virtues of this stone, the topaz.

This has been recorded in the Bible as the ninth of the gemstones which are said to form the foundations of the New Jerusalem. In medieval lore, this has been said to ward off sadness, fears of the dark and the night, and anger; if someone wears this, the topaz will be able to warn the bearer against poisons, and it’s said to protect against sudden death. It makes barren women fertile and happy, and this reportedly makes men intelligent and handsome. The biggest of these can be found in Brazil and Siberia, where there are pieces as large as the human fist.

Perhaps, I need to make sure my future boyfriend bears a topaz, right? But as for now, I’m content with loving these blue beauties!blue topaz earrings
