Jessica Alba was radiant in her Gucci gown and gold jewelry. Not only does she have a fabulous body but she knows how to accentuate her assets too. Her drop down earrings and link bracelet were the perfect accessories to her gold gown.

I think this young star has brought gold back in a big way. Finally there is a reason to get all of your gold jewelry out from your bottom jewelry box drawer and draw some attention for yourself. The Gucci gown we may have to save up for.

Yes, Paris is out of jail now and has done her interview with Larry King. I know I should be focusing on that but I am more interested in her understated jewelry. The girl that has her own jewelry line is actually going the tasteful route, as far as her jewelry choices are concerned.

Perhaps this is part of her new image?

It is interesting to note that when she went into court and was sentenced to prison, she appeared sans jewelry. Perhaps the bling that added to her fortune is her good luck charm? Lesson here never leave home without just a tad bit of sparkly jewelry.

It should be interesting if she sticks to the Simple Life Approach or if she goes back to her overly glamorous bling approach. Only time will tell.

Remember diamonds may not get you out of a jam but it will hardly ever get you into one either.

Did you catch the heart shaped pendant that Amanda Bynes has been wearing? Gwen Stephanie seems to have followed suit with a gorgeous diamond heart pendant. It seems that even the stars aren’t immune to adding a bit of romance to their lives. And who among us couldn’t use a bit more of that.

Heart pendants are lovely with almost any outfit. You can choose a simple gold one for every day wear and a dazzling diamond heart shaped pendant for those nights on the town. They also make fantastic gifts.

I recently saw a double heart pendant that would be perfect for my sister. It would also be great for a new mom.

Hearts just seem to be everywhere these days and it isn’t even February. Maybe romance isn’t really dead, after all.

Have you ever noticed that weddings seem to happen in packs? I was watching Four Weddings and a Funeral and couldn’t stop laughing. Every time a friend or cousin is about to get married, it seems like all of our friends or relatives seem eager to follow suit. And this of course means that you not only have to find a suitable gift but a lovely gown and jewelry that no one has seen you in.

That is why classic jewelry is the answer. The dress that you wear must change. Everyone will remember what you wore to the last wedding. But the jewelry has the chance of slipping under the radar. I mean no one is going to say, ” Oh my she wore her diamond stud earrings again.”

The navy blue gown with the v-neck on the other hand…

You are never expected to purchase a ton of extra jewelry for these occasions. They would rather that you took the extra cash and purchased a nicer gift. So purchasing some classic jewelry that you can wear again and again without raising eyebrows is always a good move.

Think simple diamond jewelry or a lovely delicate bracelet. Or if you are Christian, a lovely gold cross will rarely cause embarrassment.

Keep it simple and classy and you should be fine.

I don’t know about you but I have been a soap fan from before college. My favorites were All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. Well I happened to pop on one of my favorite soaps and noticed that some of the pieces of jewelry that my favorite soap stars were wearing have managed to make it into the main stream jewelry stores.

My favorite is Circle Jewelry or Eternity Jewelry. Courtney (Alicia Leigh Willis), in particular has really had a hand in inspiring this trend. So now we not only have the Hollywood celebs to watch but the soaps as well. Oh well, life is rough. Hmmm I wonder if they are still playing the Luke and Laura angle. I must tune back in and find out.

I saw the most interesting piece of jewelry online today. It had the fluer de Lys on it, as mentioned in the Da Vinci Code. Apparently this world wide sensation has made it to the jewelry industry as well. This dog tag necklace is really cool and would look sensational with a simple black dress and heels.

This fluer de Lys bracelet would look great for a night on the town. I love these funky new designs. And sporting the fluer de lys is almost like being part of a secret society. Those in the know would totally get it.

I hope you have your sunglasses on because the emerald ring that Victoria Beckham sports could blind you. Did I mention that the emerald has diamonds on the sides? Well why not she can afford it? Hers probably cost a couple of grand.

If I had that kind of cash lying around though, I would spread it out. You can get a fabulous emerald and diamond ring for about $500 online. Which means the rest of that money could go to - you guessed it - even more fabulous jewelry and perhaps a dress or two to wear with it.

That’s just me though. What would you do if a few thousand dollars dropped in your lap? Which pieces of dazzling bling would you pick out? Would you go for the big one time purchase or spread it out a bit. We would all love to know.
