Did you know that Marilyn Monroe wore a gorgeous diamond shaped pendant in How to Marry a Millionaire? This magnificent rock was 7.18 carats. And of course she made this precious gem famous in Gentleman Prefer Blonds, as she belted out “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

An amazing fact though is that Marilyn only owned two pieces of quality jewelry, both given to her by her husband Joe DiMaggio. One was an eternity ring and the other a strand of pearls.

All of her other jewelry was costume jewelry. And yet she always looked glamorous and fabulous, thereby proving the point I have reiterated here time and again - you don’t have to spend a fortune on your jewelry to look like a star.

Choose pieces that appeal to you and are in your price range. The rest is simply attitude. So you can’t afford to wear the jewelry that the celebrities have borrowed. Big deal. Where your favorite diamond studs or even cubic zirconium necklace throw on your most eye catching dress and tell the world to look out because here you come.
